NOW ON YOUR HBO: Treme "Spirit of Rebrith In Post-Katrina New Orleans"



A Little Historic Background of Treme:

Treme is a historic neighborhood in New Orleans, Louisiana which suffered minor to moderate damages during the recent devastation of Hurricane Katrina (www.wikipedia.com). This neighborhood is sometimes referred to as the epicenter of the modern Brass Band tradition, which is relative to concert or military bands, and African American and Creole culture. Many musicians emerged from this town such as,  Alphonse Picou and Kermit Ruffins.   

 What Does HBO Have Anything To Do With It?:

The show, Treme, takes place about 3 months after Hurricane Katrina ravished New Orleans in 2005. It is a drama about the hardships of several characters ranging from a successful jazz musician, a bar owner, a displaced Mardi Gras Inian chief, and a rebellious DJ/ local musician. These are just a few of the intriguing characters plagued with the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina.

Treme was created by David Simon, who is the creator of 'The Wire' and 'Generation Kill', and Eric Overmeyer, writer of 'Homicide' and 'Law and Order'. The series consists of actors/actresses like Wendell Pierce, John Goodman, Melissa Leo, Rob Brown, Khandi Alexander, and Kim Dickens. Be prepared to experience and unforgettable story filled with drama, suspense, and heart-wrenching fictional testimonies.
